What's in a Name?
"No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as any manner of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee."

Originally published in 1624 by John Donne its meaning still resonates today. It speaks to the connectivity of people. We rely on each other and through our relationships, make each other stronger. At Island recruitment we believe in these values, operating with integrity providing connections for businesses and people to grow together.

My Story
Originally from the small island of Jersey in the English Channel. I've always thought it put me in good stead for a life in recruitment. When you're from a place that's only nine miles by five surrounded by water, you sharpen your relationship management skills quickly. In 2013 I swapped one island for two and arrived in Aotearoa. Like most recruiters, I fell into this industry. My first 3 years were spent in a large global agency and the next 6 in an established rec-to-rec agency.
I was granted a visa to stay in the country I love because of recruitment. I met my lovely wife in a recruitment agency and, we were able to buy a house in Auckland because of Recruitment. That's why I consider myself very privileged to be in this position. I am grateful to the industry for everything it has provided me and count myself very lucky; I get to help recruitment professionals progress in their careers and amazing recruitment agencies achieve their goals.
